Manager of Product Management

Join our dynamic team as the Manager of Product Management, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing product strategies across all HED products. Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and Marketing and other executives to align on the strategic vision and develop actionable product roadmaps. You'll bridge gaps between sales, business development, engineering, and marketing to bring innovative products to market that delight customers and drive exceptional growth. This role combines individual contribution with leadership, fostering cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively seek customer and marketing input data as a source of product alignment and innovation.
  • Creates and maintains a product strategy that implements the product vision and achieves specific goals of achieving defined growth targets at target markets and customers.
  • Communicates often and clearly about product goals and why, progress on goals, successes, difficulties and impacts to product vision and strategies.  
  • Define KPIs and dashboards that measure the impact of our product strategies.
  • Determine a clear and compelling product vision and timeline that aligns to the overall business strategy for the HED portfolio of products. 
  • Develops and implements common processes and tools that are used across the product management teams. 
  • Ensures HED product fit based on solution need, value proposition, pricing, and ROI. Measured the growth rate and revenue of the product.
  • Fosters cross functional collaboration, learning and teamwork.
  • Frequently leads customer VOC events to ensure application understanding, product definition that is aligned to customer value and assist in the selling process. 
  • Lead and obtain buy in from internal and external stakeholders on recommended product strategies and tactics. 
  • Leverages tools to create data-based analysis of opportunities and situations. Leverages data into clear actions and strategies. 
  • Provide team leadership and mentoring on development of individual product strategies and tactics. 
  • Part of annual and strategic budgeting process creations and execution of achieving both sales and cost targets.   
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of product post-commercialization.
  • Validates and adapts product vision based on market acceptance, feasibility, needs, testing, and business viability. 
  • Work closely with eco system partners for products to address issues, communicate needs, manage on-time delivery when required of product requirements, and implementation into HED products.

Minimum Qualifications

    Education

  • BS or AS degree in engineering (electrical, electronics, electronics technologist, mobile hydraulics, or mechatronics)

    Experience and Skills/Abilities

  • 6-8 years minimum experience in technical product management and execution
  • 3+ years minimum experience in leading technical product management team
  • 3+ years minimum experience in On- and off Highway products 
  • Experience with IOT and electronic controls
  • Customer focused with a high need to win and drive success
  • Highly accountable and outcome driven
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed for customer engagement
  • Strong communication (written, verbal & presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently to set daily priorities and workload for self and team
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and develop solutions for customer needs
  • Ability to work cross functionally with all departments
  • Team mentor and coach – ability to work side by side to teach and execute as individual contributor
  • Proficient with computers:  Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and task follow-through
  • Data Driven, comfortable model data to understand market / decision impacts
  • Multitask effectively across multiple demands in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Technically astute, an ability for you to interface and communicate with engineers will be critical in this role
  • Constant learner that enjoys solving problems and improving

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA
  • Sales experience 
  • Past engineering experience – development, application, other
  • Working understanding of electronics controls, vehicle communication systems such as CAN, Telematics, software as a service, J1939, CAN Open, other, and embedded software

Physical and Mental Demands

Working Environment

Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Infrequent travel to a customer’s location may be required and may include factory or test environments.
